The PAPAGAIO team from London were delighted to join the fantastic research team from KLE JNMC to launch the PAPAGAIO programme in India. A packed schedule included trips to Jaipur SMS Medical College, to meet Dr Seema Mehta and Dr Asha Verma, who manage an extremely busy unit with 50,000 deliveries a month, Vijayapura Shri B. M. Patil Medical College Hospital and Research Centre to meet Dr Shailaja Bidra and Dr Gudadini, where there was animated discussion about placental growth factor testing, and Hubballi to see Dr Sahaja Kittur and Dr Lakshmi, the highest recruiting site in the CRADLE-4 trial!
We had a very successful and thorough discussion of the study protocols and planning study logistics and timelines. We are so grateful to our very gracious hosts from the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College central team, Professor Shivaprasad Goudar, Dr M B Bellad, Dr Manjunath Chandrasekhar, Dr Umesh Chandrimath and Dr Yogesh Kumar for their very warm welcome and all their hard work. It has been a fantastic opportunity to share experience in clinical trials, and to discuss ideas for new research in the future!
